中国近代接受西方文化的文化心理辨正——唐君毅论中国人接受西方文化实有及当有之态度

唐君毅认为,近代中国人接受西方文化由于是在一种特定条件下开始的,因此所持守的文化心理是偏执的、功利的、卑屈的、羡慕的,这样一种十分消极的文化心理导致了中国近代接受西方文化思想上的偏颇。接受西方文化应该有的文化心理是,立定自己的传统自作主宰,然后全面融摄西方文化。

People's Response to Western Culture in Modern China:Tang Junyi's Opinions on People's Actual and Proper Attitudes toward Western Culture

In Tang Junyi’s opinion,since they began to accept the Western culture in an unusual circumstance,people in modern China often maintain an illiberal,utilitarian,servile,and jealous attitude towards the Western culture,which resulted in the biased ideology of accepting exotic cultures at that time.The correct attitude they should have is to ground Western culture on their own cultural traditions and then absorbing and integrating it comprehensively.
