Artistic Expression of the Aesthetics of Emotion-and-Reason Theory

The Chinese ancient aesthetics has always put emphasis on the unity of emotion and reason,and the unity of writing and virtue.The cognition of emotion and reason and their relationship is influenced by the concept of unity of beauty and kindness which demands that the guiding principle for artistic creation focus on unity of emotion and reason,that artistic style focus on beauty of mildness,that artistic expresson on unity of lyric and mind,on unity of courtesy and music,and that outlook on life on mean and mildness.The author of this paper intends to reveal this pair of categories from the concrete expression of emotion-and-reason theory in art.
