| Abstract: | This paper analyses and discusses different aspects of the definition, classification and characteristics of English marginal prepositions. It pays special attention to the participle prepositions as they are the most active in the marginal prepositions. By giving an overall picture of such prepositions, the purpose of this paper is to argue that marginal prepositions exist in the formal style of the English language and it is necessary to know how to use them. |
