摘    要:美国高度发展的商品社会造就出生产-消费型的生态环境.文学作为其组成部分,不可避免地成为精神生产-消费品.与严肃文学相比,通俗文学的成功在于它能最大限度地满足人们的消费欲求.作为精神消费品的主要生产者,通俗小说作家悉心关注文学作品的消费市场,根据不同的消费群体心理企盼,创作出不同类型的作品浪漫传奇、侦探小说、恐怖小说,科幻小说,爱情小说等,以使有着不同兴趣及偏爱的读者有充裕的选择空间.大众日益增长的消费需要又进一步刺激了文学的生产.此外,严肃文学的衰落与悬置终极真理的社会文化氛围也不无关系.

Abstract:The commercial society creats a kind of ecological environment that is production-consumption oriented.As an element of the society, literature inevitably becomes a type of consumer goods of spiritual production.Compared with the refined literature ,the popular literature makes a great success. The success lies in its capacity of meeting the consumptive expectations of the masses to the maxmum.As producers of spiritual consumer the masses with varied interests,intentions and preferences in order to satisfy,they produce literary works of various types, such as romance, detective stories,thrill,science fiction and love stories to provide a great leeway for goods,the authors of popular literature show a great interest in the consumer market of literary works.And with the consideration of expectations from various consumer groups, the varied consumption needs of the masses.Meanwhile,the increasing consumption needs of masses reinforces the production of the popular literature.
