Historical Culture Protection in Those Famous Western Cities:Experiences Beijing Should Learn From

In those famous western cities,the understanding towards historical culture protection was not unanimous at the beginning. It was the lessons from the large-scale reconstruction after the Second World War that aroused people's appreciation of the historical culture heritage. During the later 1960's and the 1970's,historical culture protection became popular all over the world. In order to protect the historical culture and at the same time,to reduce pressure of the old cities,most of those famous western cities decided to build up new cities or new regions beyond the old ones instead of congregation to the old cities.
