| Abstract: | Faithfulness is of the first importance in the translation of English for scienc e and technology(EST),but a good translated version should also be expressive an d elegant.The characteristic of EST determines that expressiveness lies in stric tness while elegance lies in succinctness and smoothness.This paper will mainly focus on how to achieve expressiveness and elegance in EST translation from the following three aspects:logical relations,rhetoric expression of Chinese languag e,technical terms and jargon. |
