| 摘 要： | 霍布斯的《利维坦》是西方思想史上的一部枢纽性著作,而且写了两个版本,英文本与后来出版的拉丁文本差异不小,尤其明显的是,拉丁文本增加了一个"附录",通常被看成霍布斯对自己被指控为"异端"所作的辩护。通过探讨霍布斯这一"申辩"篇的修辞,文章试图表明,西方哲人的道德品质(virtue)在近代已然发生了重大变化。

| Abstract: | Hobbes' Leviathan is a crucial work in the history of Western thought.This great work has both an English edition and a Latin one.There are some differences between the two versions.Compared with the English edition,the Latin one has an "appendix",which is generally considered as an apology made by Hobbes himself against being accused as a "heretic".Through discussing the rhetoric style of Hobbes' apology,this paper intends to clarify that the Western philosopher's virtue has taken a decisive change in the modern time. |
