求实创新 博大精深——杨向奎先生治学的开拓进取精神

作为史学界蜚声中外的著名学者 ,杨向奎先生继承和发扬了前辈学者的优良传统 ,并运用新方法 ,发掘新史料 ,开拓新领域 ,由史学而经学、小学 ,由实学而哲学 ,由哲学而理论物理 ,均有卓越贡献。仅就史学成就而言 ,他的治学具有如下特色 :一、由信奉“层累地造成的古史”说到接触马克思主义 ,并以之为指导而形成科学方法论 ;二、尊重前贤而又不迷信权威 ,为《左传》、《周礼》洗冤以使之免于湮没 ,并主持发掘整理了孔府档案资料 ,丰富和开拓了史料建设 ;三、熟练地运用以考古资料和文献资料来互相印证的“两重证据法” ,取得高水平的成果 ,并根据亲历凉山彝族考察进而掌握了以文化人类学资料印证古代史的“三重证据法”。求实创新的不懈探索 ,博大精深的学术成果 ,使杨向奎先生巍巍然成为一代史学大家。

Realistic approach, creating and erudite scholarship--Forging ahead spirit of Mr. Yang Xiangkui's academic research

Mr. Yang Xiangkui, who is a worldwide famous scholar in the circle of Chinese historical science and inherited and developed good traditions of senior scholars, explored new historical materials and opened up a new academic area in a new way, he forged ahead to Confucian classics' studies and philological studies from historical science, to philosophy from practical sciences, and then to theoretical physics from philosophy. He made great contributions in every area he studied. His historical studies had characteristics as the following: first, he turned to Marxism and formed his scientific methodology with Marxism guide from initial faith of “studying ancient history by distinguishing truth from accumulating materials”; second, he respect senior scholars but without blind worship of authorities, he redressed injustice on “Zuo Zhuan” and “Zhou Li” and saved them from being neglected, he directed the work of exploring and arranging files' materials of Confucian Mansion, enriched and developed the construction of historical materials; third, he made high quality academic achievements by using “dual evidences method” which means archaeology materials and literature materials are confirmed each other. With his own investigation in Yi nationality in Liang mountain, he also mastered “triple evidences method” that confirming ancient history with cultural anthropology. Mr. Yang's characteristics of realistic approach and endless probing combined with erudite academic achievements, made himself to be a great master in historical science.
