隐喻中汉英转换的映射对接

隐喻汉英翻译要求译者使用符合目的语社团社会文化特点的始发概念域的具体概念,来映射原语隐喻中的抽象概念,再现原语的隐喻意义和隐喻表达形式。事实上,现在一些汉英隐喻译文往往忽视隐喻的思维映射,不能接通汉英隐喻喻体意象,为此,要从转换喻体、直译喻体与增加释义、扩展隐喻与补出寓意等方面入手,来实现原文喻体寓意与译文喻体寓意映射的对接。

Mapping Docking of Chinese-English Translation in Metaphors

The translation of metaphors from Chinese to English requires the translator to use concrete concepts of the starting field of concepts that conform to the cultural features of the target language community so as to map the abstract concepts of the metaphors of the source language and represent the metaphorical meaning and the representation forms of metaphors of the source language. In fact, some Chinese-English metaphorical translations usually ignore the thought mapping of metaphors and thus fail to connect the images of Chinese-English metaphors. Therefore, to achieve the mapping docking of the implied meanings of source language vehicles and those of the target language vehicles, we should start from switching the vehicles, literally translating the vehicles and adding notes, expanding metaphors and supplying implied meanings.
