清末石门坎学生学习外语的动机、态度和信念

摘    要:20世纪初,伯格理等传教士与当地少数民族精英共同开设的外语教学课程不仅引起了学生的普遍兴趣,学习者的学习成效也普遍较好。文章运用语言习得的相关理论,对清末石门坎学生学习外语的动机、态度和信念进行分析研究,发现清末石门坎的外语教学充分利用了学生的学习动机、态度和信念对于学习成效的积极作用。石门坎的外语教学经验能为当今少数民族地区的外语教育及实践提供指导,也为少数民族地区的师资培养提供借鉴。

Abstract:In early 20th century Samuel Pollard, as a missionary, opened foreign language courses for minority elites in China, and achieved much progress. This paper studies the students' foreign language learning motivation, attitude and faith in Shimenkan of Guizhou Province in the late Qing Dynasty. It is argued that the experience can serve as a useful reference for today' s foreign language education in China's minority areas.
