文化视角处理隐喻翻译的技巧

隐喻所包含的不同文化背景和文化内涵对翻译的影响不可以一言概括之,中西方学者在隐喻翻译方面的见解既有共识也有分歧,但既然翻译的初衷是交流不同文化中本来存在的东西,那么在隐喻翻译中还是提倡采用外国化的处理方式保留它本来文化中的内涵。本文从文化的视角分析隐喻的翻译技巧。

Cultural Approach to Metaphor Translation

Cultural influence in metaphor translation cannot be explained in haste. With efficient bilingual and bi - cultural background knowledge as support, translators also need to make a choice between translation strategies of domesticating and foreignizing,the latter of which is preferred in the article since the very purpose of translation is to exchange what exists in different cultures. This paper manages to use a cultural approach to solve the cultural barrier in metaphor translating process and the translation strategies metaphors may require and finally put forward strategies needed to translate different metaphors or the same metaphors in different contexts.
