On the Appropriateness of Translation Notes in Interpretation

Interpretation is a challenging job and it makes enormous demands on interpreters. This paper expounds the importance of translation notes and then mainly discusses the appropriateness interpreters should adopt in the process of interpretation, especially in consecutive interpretation. That is to activate the schema in our minds; and interpreters should both he aware of the importance of translation notes and realize that interpreters should not depend on notes too much. Only when they get a deep understanding of what they hear, can interpreters achieve a correct and full interpretation.
