如何重探“小说现代性”——以吴趼人为个案

通过探讨现时一些有关吴趼人小说的现代性分析,以吴趼人一些代表性的作品作为具体的脉络去说明“中国小说现代性”这个含义比较抽象的问题。指出,中国小说的现代性除表现在小说的叙事技巧上,亦体现在小说的叙事内容上,甚至小说的社会地位以及小说与其他文类之间的关系上。中国小说的现代性,可谓牵涉在整个文学结构的变化之内,而不是某种特定的小说技巧上的革新所能够充分说明的。

How to Re-explore "the Modernity of Fiction"——A Case Study of Wu Jianren

Through the exploration of the present analysis of the modernity embodied in Wu Jianren's fiction,this paper attempts to describe the abstract issue of“the modernity of Chinese fiction”with Wu Jianren' representative works as cases for study.It argues that the modernity of the Chinese fiction is reflected not only in its narrative techniques,but also in its narrative content,even in the social status of the Chinese fiction as well as its relationship with other genres.Therefore,the modernity of the Chinese fiction is not restricted to some specific techniques of novel writing,but involved in the transformation of the general structure of literature.
