Research on the college culture building in the new period

College and universities bear the missions of innovating science and technology, fostering talents of high quality and spreading the advanced culture and ideology. The purpose of building the college culture is to create the environment and atmosphere that ensure the realization of the missions. The paper explores the building of college culture from the perspectives of the connotations of college and university and college culture, the functions of the college culture, the fading phenomenon of college spirit, and so on. It comes to the conclusion that the key to the building of the college culture is to cultivate the college spirit, upgrade the college cultural taste and establish relative systems of ensuring the fulfillment and unified management of the college culture building.
