| 摘 要： | 中国是一个统一的多民族国家，对多民族的系统研究始于司马迁，他开创了“四裔传”的先河，使中国民族史研究有了明确的时空概念、明确的对象和丰富的内容，奠定了中国民族史学发展的基础。司马迁还从统一多民族国家形成与发展的角度，在民族研究中建立了中国民族史研究的整体观，说明了民族发展与国家发展具有互动性，提出了黄帝是“华夷”的共祖等思想。这些思想对统一多民族国家的形成与发展影响是深远的，贡献是巨大的。
