| Abstract: | In Japanese literary history, there is a large proportion of poemscomposed in Chinese which reflect the influence of the Chinese culture onthe Japanese. This influence is mainly expressed by the ideas of "faithfulness" and "piety", advocacy of elegance and integrity, thepractice of seeking neither truth nor fame and rising above materialdesires. |
