基督教与近代山西种植业、养殖业和林果业发展初探

近代以来,基督教传教士、教会学校把西红柿、甜菜和高产优质的玉米、小麦等农作物新品种传入山西,并引进、改良了农业技术、工具,使山西种植业开始向现代转变;引入苹果等果树品种为山西林果业发展奠定了基础;奶牛、奶羊、新鸡种的传入则更新了山西养殖业的品种。这些都增加了近代山西人的食物营养,提高了近代山西社会的养育功能。

Preliminary Inquiry into Missionaries and Development of Cultivation and Aquaculture and Forestry in Modern Shanxi

In modern Shanxi,missionaries and religious schools took tomatoes,beets and high-yield,fine varieties of corns and wheats into Shanxi.They introduced and improved agricultural technology and tools which made Shanxi cultivation begin to transform towards modern type.They imported the new kinds of fruit trees,for example,apple trees,which laid a foundation for Shanxi modern forestry.The introduction of milk cow,milk goat and new type of hen renewed the breeds of Shanxi aquaculture.All of these raised the food nutrition of people in modern Shanxi and improved its rearing function.
