An Efficiency Analysis of the Changes in the Russian Financial Institutions

The core of institutional evolution in the transitional economies is the formation of various key institutions during privatization and post-privatization phases,among which the financial system is of the greatest importance.As for the transitional economies,the changes of institutions must be completed in a relatively short period as compared with mature market economies,where the institutional evolution is a comparatively gradual process.The government,therefore,should play a positive role in this process,providing a favorable environment for the transition.Russia is a typical country with transitional economy.Therefore it is of great significance to study the effect of its financial reform on economic development and its efficiency of financial institutional transition so as to learn from its positive and negative experience.
