An Analysis on Diseconomy of Geographic Space Pattern of Disparity of Economic Development Between Eastern and Western Regions

By applying the theoretical approaches of the space structure of economic development, a comparative analysis is made on the disparity of the development between the eastern and western regions, and the status in quo and gap of the development of western regions, thus disclosing that the key restricting factor for the development of western regions consists in the internal and external diseconomy of the scale and space structure. An idea is presented that the optimization of the economic space pattern is the key to the development of western regions.
