儒学南传与岭南儒学的变迁

儒学在战国时期就已传到岭南，直到汉武帝在全国推行“独尊儒术”的政策后，儒学才开始在岭南普及开来。随后，儒学的不同发展形态也先后在岭南风行起来。进入明代中叶，陈献章在岭南开创了与程朱理学、陆王心学鼎足为三的江门学派，同时也奠定了岭学在全国的地位。儒学在岭南的发展过程中经历的巨变主要表现为：岭南文化结构上的从远儒尚朴到崇儒容外，儒家经典关注上的从《春秋》兴文到《大学》治世，儒学重构思路上的从以道释儒到以儒释新，社会价值观上的从士民二元到士民一致。

Confucianism southward spread and its Lingnan variety

Confucianism had reached Lingnan area in the Warring States Period, but it had not widely spread here until the Han Dynasty carried out the policy of ＂Sided emphasis on Confucianism＂ all over the country. Subse- quently, the different patterns in development of Confucianism had also prevailed in Lingnan. By the mid-Ming Dy- nasty, Chen Xianzhang started the Jiangmen school contending with the Cheng-Chu school and the Lu-Wang school in Lingnan, thus establishing the academic position of Lingnan in the country. The great changes Confucianism ex- perienced in its development in Lingnan cover a wide range from being compatible with foreign culture to advocating such social values as intellectuals being consistent with civilians.
