| 摘 要： | 雕版印书出现之前,书籍都是手写的,称之曰"本".唐、宋之际,伴随雕版印刷术的发明和应用,产生附加式合成词"版本"(板本),意思是版印之"本",此乃"版本"一词之本义.两宋以后,随着印刷术的发展,"版本"词义不断延伸,覆盖面愈来愈大.一书经多次传写或印刷、制作而形成的种种不同的本子(或称作:物质形态),统名之曰:版本.

| Abstract: | All books were handwritten and called ben before the introduction of woodblocks for printing. In the Tang and Song Dynasties, there appeared an additional compound word banben, meaning ben printed by woodblocks. After the Song Dynasty, the meaning of banben has been further extended to mean any ben or books written or printed on any materials. |
