中日两国侦探小说的产生具有相似的时代背景和文化渊源，但明治维新特别是二战后，日本的侦探小时发展迅速，社会推理小说成为世界侦探小说发展的第三次高峰，而中国侦探小说却没有形成自己的特色和流派。中日侦探小说艺术成就悬殊，与两国的发展道路和经济水平不同、法律体系的健全和法律观念的普及程度不同，以及传统思维方式的影响等因素有关。中国侦探小说要向前发展，一要走本土化创作之路，二要不断丰富小说的社会内涵，三要创作多层次的小说，以满足不同层次社会读者的审美趣味。

Different Approaches from Same Start: A Comparative Study of the Development of Chinese and Japanese Detective Stories

Chinese and Japanese detective stories origin from similar backgrounds and cultural sources. However, after the Meiji Restoration, particularly after World War H, Japanese detective story witnessed a rapid development, and its social detective story made the third peak in the world and in traditional thinking mode. The development of Chinese detective story relies on efforts in three aspects： first, local-based creation; second, steadily inclusion of social connotations; third, variety of stories for aesthetic tastes of reader from different social classes.
