| Abstract: | The most famous work of the Scottish novelist L. G. Gibbon is his trilogy A Scots Quair .This trilogy is peculiar in its use of vernacular language, its concern for the destiny of the heroine shows the author's liberal view of women's position, and the view of historical development revealed through its structure is progressive and optimistic. |
