| Abstract: | The author of the paper reports his stress on both textual criticism of literary facts and analysis of textual structures in his research on ancient Chinese fictions.With this stress in mind,the author has undertaken his studies into The Strange Tales of Liao Zhai. Based on his knowledge of Pu Songling's life stories,the author finds the features in its creation:religious and supersitious story patterns converted to forms of expression of concern with the real world and of the happiness and miseries of human life. |
