The writers of the Beijing School who appeared in the literary world after the climax of May the Forth New Culture Movement were placed in a context where the conflict between the new and the old culture reconciled and the New Culture was internally revising.Therefore,their cultural option is characteristic of its inclination to tradition: it is strongly identified with its national culture concerning their attitude towards Chinese culture and western culture;it stresses the exploration of the artistic spirits in classical culture concerning the ancient and the modern culture;meanwhile,it applies the ideas in western modern literature to traditional Chinese culture.The cultural option of the Beijing is an introspection and rectification of strong anti-tradition tendency during May the Forth New Culture Movement and symbolizes the deepening of the New Culture Movement and the New Literature Movement.
