That Wu Weiye's view to evaluate the world with the understanding of the author is combined with his thoughts of "the history of the mind" as "the history of poetry" has, on the one hand, broken through traditional determinism of the politically moralizing pattern to evaluate the world with the understanding of the author and the thinking mode of writing being representative of the author's personality, and has rectified the malpractices to deviate from social reality by literary criticism on the other. His, therefore, shares the common characteristics of the doctrine to evaluate the world with the understanding of the author between the Ming and the Qing Dynasty in that they both, bearing the nation's fortune in mind, focus on the administration of the state affairs, and has obtained its own specific connotations, thus exemplifying the new progresses of the history of poetry achieved during this period of time.
