诚朴雄伟励学敦行--百年传统与南大校训

大学的灵魂是其独立的思想和传统。百年南大历经沧桑,但诚朴坚毅、自强不息的精神历久弥新,这在不同时期的校训中都有展现。在百年校庆到来之际,南京大学确定“诚朴雄伟,励学敦行”的校训,以激励南大人弘扬传统,奋发进取。

Integrity, Grandeur, Diligence, and Practice

The soul of a university consists in its independent thinking and tradition. Having gone through all the vicissitudes of the past century, Nanjing University has always kept high the spirit of " integrity, persistence, and unremitting efforts for self improvement , which could be witnessed in the university mottos of different historical times. Upon her centenary Nanjing University has adopted "Integrity, Grandeur, Diligence, and Practice" as her motto in order to encourage the teachers and students to carry on and promote her tradition and to strive for greater progress.
