Debate on Realism and The Bulletin of Literature and Arts in the Dissemination of Soviet Russian Literature in 1950s

In 1950s, hot debate was launched in China on realism and The Bulletin of Literature and Arts took an active part. Translations of the Soviet theoretical articles on socialist realism were published abundantly on the Bulletin, an absolutely authority then, so that the socialist realism was hailed as the ultimate principle of literary creation and criticism in the circle of literature and arts in China in 1950s. The experiences and lessons from such a phenomenon reveal that enough attention must be paid to the influences of periodical dissemination on the development of the Chinese literature in the 20th century.
