| Abstract: | As one of the most significant representatives of Xinyue poets, Xu Zhimo's prominent contributions include the transformation and practice of the style of the Xinyue poems, and his constant pursuit of the sense of form and the inner beauty in composing poems. In form, Xu Zhimo puts emphasis on syllabic harmony, the employment of the traditional image and the modern features of the lines whereas, in content, he lays stress on the beauty of spirit and demonstration of individuality. Therefore, his poems strike his readers as just light, smooth and beautiful. |
