“忠实”与“叛逆”——以葛浩文《生死疲劳》英译本为例

在文学翻译界“忠实”与“背叛”一直是一个争议性的话题，直到“创造性叛逆”概念的产生，较为有效地解决了这个纷争。“创造性叛逆”把人们的视角引向对“文化”的关注。《生死疲劳》是莫言的代表作之一。美国翻译家葛浩文的英译本使得该作品在英语世界里广泛传播。文章以“创造性叛逆”的视角，选取《生死疲劳》英译本中典型的例子，从生态文化、物质文化、社会文化、宗教文化和语言文化等五个方面进行对比分析，阐释因“文化隔阂”而产生的“忠实”和“创造性叛逆”现象及其所用的翻译手法，旨在揭示其文化价值，为文学翻译提供参考。

"Fidelity" and "Treason": A Case Study of the English Version Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out by Howard Goldblatt

The terms faithfulness and betrayal have been a controversial topic in the field of literary translation until the emergence of the concept of creative treason. Creative treason leads people's attention to cultural concerns. Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out is one of Mo Yan's masterpieces. The English translation by the American translator Howard Goldblatt enabled the work to spread widely in the English speaking world. This paper chooses the typical example of the English version Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out from the perspective of creative treason, and compares and analyzes from the five aspects: ecological culture, material culture, social culture, religious culture and linguistic culture. The paper analyzes faithfulness and creative treason, their application and value to reveal, and provides some reference for literary translation.
