On Some Ethical Issues Concerning Sustainable Development

Sustainable development should have three major goals: economic development, ecological balance, and social justice. It is clear that ecological balance could never be achieved without people armed with modern ethical theories, while social justice is one of the basic issues of modern ethics. In view of the achievements of Western ethics as well as the severe problems such as distributive injustice and ecological deterioration in China, it is an urgent task of academic circles to make researches on the ethics of sustainable development.
