第二次世界大战期间 ,日本问题经常吸引苏、美、英三大国的注意力。太平洋战争爆发后 ,英国曾要求苏联立即参加远东战争 ,美国政府则希望 ,依靠苏联的帮助大大减轻自身在对日战争中的负担和损失。经过德黑兰、雅尔塔会议上的长期讨论 ,三大国首脑最终就苏联参加对日战争问题达成了协议。苏联于 1 945年 8月对日宣战 ,并在战后扩大了它在远东的影响。二战结束至今已 55年 ,然而苏日两国有关千岛群岛的领土争论却遗留至今 ,并成为俄日两国政府共同面临的难题

The Japanese Issue during the Second World War

During the Second World War, the Japanese issue always attracted the attention of the Three Great Powers. After the Pacific War broke out, Great Britain asked the Soviet Union to take part in the war against Japan immediately. The American government hoped that with the help of the Soviet Union, it would greatly lighten its own burden and reduce its own losses in the war against Japan. Through the long discussion in the Tehran and Yalta conferences, the heads of the Three Great Powers finally reached an agreement on Soviet Union's participation in the war against Japan. The Soviet Union declared war against Japan in August 1945 and extended its sphere of influence in the Far East after the war. 55 years have elapsed since the end of the Second World War, but the territorial dispute between the Soriet Union and Japan about Kuril Islands still remains and becomes a serious problem for governments of both Russia and Japan.
