The Building of Minzu History and the Influence of Social Factors in its Process

Baoan group was officially recognized as a nationality in the 1950s,and there were various opinions about its origin.After half century of the recognition,the history and origin of this group has been rewritten.The new trend indicates the reflection of the ethnic relations in real society on the history writing,also indicated the active role of ethnic elites in the process of history reconstruction.From the analysis of the Baoan case,we can learn how social factors can influence the construction of history of nationalities.And consequently,this case inspires us to research the structures of ethnic identification among intergroup levels and to rethink our national history writing.
