| 摘 要： | 公民思想是托克维尔政治思想的重要内容,它包括谁成为公民以及如何成为公民两个方面。在谁成为公民的问题上,托克维尔立足于法国的历史、思想与文化传统,强调法国现代公民的生成不但包括从市民到公民的生成机制,而且包括一个从农民到公民的生成过程；在如何成为公民的问题上,托克维尔强调现代公民的培养不仅需要国民教育,更为重要的是需要公共生活的锻炼。托克维尔的公民思想对于当代中国的公民建设既具有方法论层面的意义,又具有重要的现实启发意义。
