论脱化

夫脱化之法 ,其为义也大矣 ,自来诗家造语 ,率以祖述为常 ,虽有剽窃偷盗之讥 ,不减引古取旧之用。在于古人 ,既已心知其实 ;抑于今世 ,则或闻听而骇。是以今兹所论也 ,虽托昔贤之为说 ,殆犹重发此秘于天日乎 ?顾脱化之为义 ,向有牵缠 ,故入作之为要 ,略需分理 ;而唯辨于祖述之必存 ,则尤进乎语汇之先在矣。至若脱化之为法 ,乃在祖、作之同异 ,与夫翻新之变化 ,且以语工字简为尊尚 ,而视融化无迹为极至也。

On the Adaptation of Quotation

Quotation as a way of writing is very important. T he expressions by poets took as normal what said by the ancestors and they quoted them. The way is sometimes considered plagiarism , but not reduced. The ancients thought it normal; nowadays people will be surprised when hearing them. This pa per aims to make its meaning clear again based on what stated by the saints. The adaptation of quotation has not reached an agreement and needs to be explained. The approach is that change should be made in the quotation, and brevity is adv ocated. The best effect will be that no trace of quotation can be found.
