"伪翻译"的重新解读

"伪翻译"现象在文学史和翻译史上大量存在。作为"假面文学"的一种形式,它不应被当作赝品而排除。翻译和"伪翻译"同是在特定的文化历史情境中所进行的话语实践,体现了话语、权力、政治之间的博弈。真伪翻译之间的截然二分并非不容置疑,用以界定伪翻译的那些性质在翻译中也大量存在——翻译作为"改写"(勒弗维尔意义上),呈现出的是与原文的差异和背离。对伪翻译的思考,有助于加深对翻译的本质以及翻译活动所涉及的权力政治因素的认识。

A Critical Rethinking on Pseudotranslation

"Pseudotranslation" is never a rare phenomenon in the history of literature and translation.As one of the various forms of "masked literature",it should not be excluded simply for its "inauthenticity".Translation and "pseudotranslation" are both discursive practices built into complex cultural and historical contexts,involved in the gaming of discourse,power and politics.The dichotomy of translation and its "pseudo" other can be challenged,for what may serve to define the "pseudo" is also abundant in those we classify as "authentic". Translation as "rewriting" in the Lefeverean sense always produces differences and deviations from the original.A reflection on pseudotranslation would highlight many unexamined aspects of our definition of translation itself and the politics of translation practice.
