隐喻映射机制分析简

为了阐释隐喻理解的理据，以英文报刊杂志上收集的隐喻表达为语料，对隐喻映射过程的三个特征，即隐喻映射的选择性、不对称性和特征突现性进行了分析。研究发现：喻体到本体的映射是一个混合机制；本体在选择过程中限定映射原则并将映射的特征在本体域内运用；本体与喻体就某一特征表现出来的不同程度的突显性决定了隐喻映射的不对称性。此外，突现特征的研究证明了两域映射模型很难解释新奇隐喻。

Analysis of metaphorical mapping mechanism

To explore the generation of metaphorical meanings, analyses were made of the three characteristics of metaphorical mapping which are of great significance to the compre-hension of metaphor： selectivity, asymmetry, and emergence of properties. The analysis of the collected data from English newspapers and magazines indicates that the mapping from tenor to vehicle is a mixed mechanism. Metaphor tenor constrains the selection of the map-pability principles and applies mapped properties in its domain. The different degree of prominence concerning a given property in tenor and vehicle determines the asymmetry of metaphorical mapping. In addition, the two-domain mapping model is not plausible to expli-cate the emergence of new properties in the vehicle domain and novel metaphors in partic-ular.
