“天人合一”作为中国传统哲学的基本精神．其本质是人与自然的和谐，人与天地万物是相互依存的，是一个和谐整体。建立和谐生存世界归根到底是人的问题，人是自然界生命价值的承担者与呵护者，是实现可持续发展的历史主体。传统“天人合一”思想运用于现代图书馆文化建设中，就是要在图书馆工作中体现“以人为本”的思想和精神，提供人性化服务，为读者创造一个亲切、温馨、宽松、和谐的读书环境。
