摘    要:我国晚清著名的文化学者和翻译家辜鸿铭,向西方译介了中国儒家经典古籍《论语》、《中庸》,其译文新颖独特,做法与翻译策略中的归化法不谋而合。本文拟在后殖民理论视阈下重新解读辜鸿铭译经中的归化翻译,通过分析辜氏译本中所运用归化法的特征及其动机与意义,指出归化翻译策略并非总是殖民者进行文化殖民的共谋,它也可以成为弱势民族宣扬其文化文本的意义与价值、赢取理解与认同的利器。

On Ku Hungming's Domestication Strategy from the Perspective of Postcolonial Theory
Abstract:Ku Hungming,the Chinese famous cultural scholar and translator of the late Qing Dynasty,introduced the Chinese Confucian classics Lunyu and Zhongyong into the West by translating.In the translation,he adopted domestication strategy,which makes his version original and impressive.From the perspective of postcolonial theory,this paper will reexamine and analyze Ku Hungming's domestication strategy in the aspects of its characteristics,motivation and significance,in an attempt to point out that domestication strategy is not always a means employed for cultural colonization,instead,it can be a tool used by the weaker countries to demonstrate the significance and value of their cultural texts to win the understanding and approval from stronger countries.
