| Abstract: | Wang Guowei's idea on translation can be summarized as follows: "faithful" to the original text; the "accuracy" of the concept; the maintenance of the "original spirit"; the best possible "comprehensibility". Wang Guowei emphasized that the translator should be able to understand the original text and erudite in the target language and should have an original historical perspective. All this has enriched traditional Chinese translation studies. |
