非英语专业大学生课外阅读英语文学作品的调查分析

利用自主设计的调查问卷,分析非英语专业本科生的英语文学作品课外阅读概况、态度与需求。结果表明79.4%的被调查学生认为阅读英语文学作品对英语学习有帮助,但83.5%的学生从未参加过英语文学作品的课外阅读活动。调查结果还发现学生的英语阅读材料主要是报纸或杂志,学生更倾向有趣易懂的小说作品。从对不同专业本科生的调查结果可见,不同专业本科生对英语文学作品阅读的认知基本相同,但对于是否愿意参加英语文学作品阅读活动的态度却明显不同,农科专业学生"非常同意"和"同意"参加小组合作竞赛式阅读活动的,比工科专业学生高出9.6%。调查结论为开展英语文学阅读的教学实践活动提供指导。

A survey on non-English majored college students' English literature reading

The opinions and demands of non-English majored undergraduates for English literature reading were surveyed and analyzed using a set of questionnaires independently designed by the researchers.The results showed that 79.4% of the surveyed students believed that English literature reading was able to improve their reading skills,and 83.5% never took part in literature reading activities.College students like to read English newspapers,magazines,or interesting novel books.Different majored students shared the same opinion that English literature reading was helpful to improve their English learning.However,their attitudes about whether they would take part in the English literature reading were different.Meanwhile the agriculture majored students were willing or agree to take part in English literature reading activities such as the reading contest between groups in which the members were engaged in cooperation,and they were 9.6% more than the engineering majored students.Those results could offer a fundamental basis for the teaching of English literature reading.
