In recent years, the city literary creation with the subject matter of Shanghai has shown two trends: nostalgia and the youthful story, reflecting the different creative state of mind and different cultural inclinations,i.e. for utility and vulgar in the material incentive society,they placed their intranquility and dissatisfaction in their imagination of remembering the past. The old Shanghai is idealized and oversimplified in the fictitious imaginative remembering past times while the present is lost in the aristocrat atmosphere. In the later modern cultural context, traditional ideas have been overturned while every effort is made to achieve the personal values and getting the material gains.
