| 摘 要： | “小说”名义之歧误,历来发生在《庄子·外物》注解中,而近世又发生在古典小说研究中。“小说”真义实为“小道”。先秦诸子论学大量使用了“小道”一词,而与“大道”形成两极对峙。如果将“小说”转释为“小道”,并将《庄子》“小说”观扩展为诸子“小道”观,就可建构诸子“小说”观同秦汉“小说家”以及后世文体小说的关联。

| Abstract: | Throughout the ages, scholars have misunderstood the meaning of the term xiaoshuo used in External Things of The book of Master Zhuang, and the misunderstanding has manifested itself either in the explanatory notes to the hook or in the study of classic novels. Xiaoshuo here actually means xiaodao (meaning "rudimentary truth"), a term commonly used in academic debates among philosophers before the Qin Dynasty (221BC-206BC), forming a contrast with dadao (meaning "pure truth"). If this explanation is reasonable, we can make a connection between the idea of xiaoshuo of the philosophers, the xiaoshuojia (storywriters) of the Qin and Han Dynasties (221BC-220AD), and xiaoshuo as a literary form (fiction) thereafter. |
