| Abstract: | This article intends to exemplify English personal pronominal anaphora in comparison with the Chinese ones in a discourse approach.The conclusion is that the distribution regularity of personal anaphora in English and Chinese has similar features.What is different is that the pronouns in Chinese narrative discourse,in most cases,can be replaced by zero-pronouns.Although the distribution of pronominal anaphora in Chinese is arbitrary,there still exist some regularity and certain tendency in determining the usage of pronominal. |
