| 摘 要： | 英语委婉语、暗指及低调陈述三种修辞格都运用了间接、温和的语言形式来追求语义的模糊、淡化 ,它们还有某种语义上的交叉 (overlapping) ;但三者又有各自特定的内涵和应用范围 ,有不同的修辞效果。本文意就委婉语与暗指、委婉语与低调陈述及其修辞效果之异同进行比较。

| Abstract: | Euphemism, innuendo and understatement, all the rhetorical figures use indirect and gentle language forms to achieve the fuzziness and tone-down of meaning, and they overlap in meanings. Each of them, however, has its own definition, structural forms, applying range and different rhetorical effect. This article intends to make a comparison of the similarities and differences between euphemism, innuendo and understatement, and their rhetorical effect. |
