From Nation-State to Politics: Carl Schmitt's Construction on the Concept of Politics

The way of construction on the concept of politics is the key point to grasp Carl Schmitt's political thoughts.This article indicates that,in the discussion from the nation-state to politics,Schmitt began with the analysis of nation-state,extended to the interpretation of the political world and the orientation of human being,and finished his construction on the concept of politics.By integrating these four points,namely,nation-state,political world,humanity and politics,in a logical way,the paper provides a basic clue for the understanding of Schmitt's political thoughts.Based on the analysis of Schmitt's views of nation-state,political world,humanity and politics,it tries to reveal the theoretical significance and its limitation.
