大学应充分发挥文化交融的功能

在以往的数百年里,人类文化经历了分析与对立的时代,呈现着中西、古今、文理和不同文化的割裂与冲突,出现了人文主义思潮与科学主义思潮的分野。教育的根本功能是维系一个民族的文化活力,并由此推进人类文明的演化与发展。大学应当从历史文化的视角来思考自己的使命,充分发挥文化交融的功能,以交叉融合的文化理念孕育人才、指导学术、服务社会,并引领社会文化前进。

The Fusion of Multi-Cultures Should Be Given Full Play in Universities

In the past centuries,the human beings have experienced the opposition and conflicts between the West and East,the ancient and modern,humanities and sciences,and in general,the separation and isolation between the humanistic and scientific cultures.The basic function of education is to maintain the cultural vitality and thereby to improve the evolution and development of civilization.Today,university should reflect its own mission from the historical-cultural perspectives and should give full play to the fusion of the dualistic cultures.At present,the tasks of a university are to educate the students,enhance the academic power and serve the society and thereby march ahead of the society;but all these tasks should be implemented under the guidance of the idea of the fusion of the dualistic cultures.
