| Abstract: | This paper,based on authentic linguistic materials,makes the following points: The word "he"(what) in "he yi zhi bu hui"(What war has the Song Kingdom not attended?) is an interrogative pronoun,used as an attributive that modifies "war".The words "ru"(insult),"xiu"(humiliation) and "chi"(disgrace) can all be causatives as well as verbalized adjectives,similar in their usage in this respect.In the sentence "er yu wu wang wo hu"(Do you want to make me King of Wu?),the noun "wu wang"(King of Wu) is more likely to be interpreted as a causative. |
