曾参的思想、风貌──兼说“武城非南武城之省”

曾参被推崇为“宗圣”，历来都认为他是孔子“忠恕之道”、“心性之学”的传人，实际上他又是孔子不为富贵所诱、不为威武所屈思想的继承者和弘扬者，后经子思等传授给孟子，成为孟子“民贵君轻”、“富贵不能淫，贫贱不能移，威武不能屈”等思想的重要思想来源。曾参的思想是上承孔子、下启思孟的中间环节。曾参出生地是南武城，而“武城非南武城之省”。

Zeng Shen' s thought and his style and features--Furthermore discussing "Wu Cheng Not Abridgement of South Wu Cheng"

Zeng Shen was held in esteem as Saint Zong (master of great learning and integrity). He was the teacher of the study of mind and nature and the way of loyalty and reciprocity of Confucius. In fact, he was also the inheritor and advocator of the thought of Confucius that one should not be allured by wealth and yielded to rank. Through Zisi and others, such thought was imparted to Mencius and became the important ideological source of Mencius' thought, such as “People is precious, the ruler is light”, “one should not be wallowed in luxury bye wealth and rank, moved in striated and humble circumstances, and subdued by force.” Therefore Zeng Shen's thought, inherited from Confucius and passed on to Zi si and Mencius, was the intermediary between them. Moreover, the birthplace of Zeng Shen was south Wu Cheng, while “Wu Cheng was not the abridgement of South Wu Cheng.”
