| 摘 要： | "诚"与"信"作为伦理规范,在起初是分离使用的。后来,二者被人们结合在一起,形成"诚信"这一道德范畴,即传统诚信。其基本内涵主要是:诚实信仰、忠实信奉;诚实信用、诚实守诺;忠诚信义、真诚负责。今天,我们探究传统诚信思想的历史源流和挖掘传统诚信思想的基本内涵,对批判继承传统诚信道德的精神遗产、构建和谐社会和提高公民道德素质都具有重要的作用。

| Abstract: | Devoutness and credit were separately used as ethical norm and moral standard in the ancient times. Later, devoutness and credit have gradually grown into the exact meaning of honesty as moral norms. Its basic connotations are： honest belief, honest promise, honest credit and responsibility. The paper probes the origin and implication of Chinese traditional honesty thoughts by combining its historical development. It is of importance to build harmonious society and improve the moral level of citizens by inheriting traditional spiritual legacy critically in modern times. |
